This is the measurement across the front of the shirt underneath the armpit when the shirt is laid flat.
Measuring Your Ideal "Actual Chest Width"
To find your perfect garment fit, start by measuring a shirt you already love the fit of — whether it’s a T-shirt or football top. Lay it flat and measure straight across the front from one armpit seam to the other. This measurement is known as the actual chest width.
